5 natural skincare tips for the summer

Summer is finally here, and the holiday season is upon us, at last. It’s that time of the year when I give my body a good old ‘spring clean ‘from head to toe.

Here are 5 simple skincare treats ready for my summer holidays.

1. Super boost your skincare

Skin care face masks are all the rage now, there’s so many to choose from. They’re great for your skin, as they draw out all the impurities that lodge deep in the top layers of the skin.

They work by gently melting away the dead skin cells that can make your skin look dull and lifeless, and can block your pores and cause breakouts and spotty skin.

So, bag yourself a natural face mask this summer, gel, clay, or cream masks are all available for different skin types.

If you have oily skin, I would stick to a clay or gel mask. Cream nourishing masks are simply great for dry and menopausal skin types.

Exfoliating gel masks, are my favourite at this time of the year, as they leave your skin feeling refreshed and renewed and wonderfully soft and glowing.

Put your mask on, sit back for 10 minutes in the garden with a coffee or ice tea, and just enjoy the moment.

2. Get a steam or sauna treatment

It might be hot out there but it’s the best time to treat yourself to a deep cleansing sauna or steam treatment at your local gym.

A good steam or sauna treatment, is perfect to give your skin a deep down clean, ready for the perfect summer glow.

The heat treatment will, opens your pores all over your body, and deeply cleanse the skin to get rid of dirt and soften dead skin which can be exfoliated or washed away, more easily to leave your skin looking radiant.

It’s a wonderful rejuvenating treatment that will only cost a few pounds at your local gym.

Use a dry brush or loofah to scrub your body after the heat treatment, and then take a cold-water dip or cold shower, your skin will tingle, and you’ll feel super clean and rejuvenated.

 3. Exfoliate your body

Exfoliation is one of my favourite body treatments. You can use a body brush or a skincare exfoliator, both do the same job, they remove dead dry skin from the body, encourage skin renewal, help to get rid of cellulite and  tone the body.

There are so many good natural body scrubs and body exfoliators available with exotic natural ingredients, such as coconut, mango, turmeric, cocoa butter, ands shea butter  designed to deeply exfoliate and nourish the body at the same time.

You’ll love the result your body will have a wonderful natural skin glow and you’ll feel rejuvenated and uplifted.

 4. Rejuvenate your hands and feet

A good old fashion foot soak is the starting point for a wonderful foot care treatment. A warm water foot soak helps to soften and banish dry dead skin on the feet. After soaking the feet use a foot file or foot exfoliator to remove the dead dry skin and boost your foot circulation.

Follow this with a super nourishing foot cream or foot butter to deeply moisturize. You’ll stand proud in the sun.

The hands like the feet take a battering every day, so before you hit the nail bar, give your hands a little treat by exfoliating your hands and then massaging them with warm oil or a nourishing hand cream.

5. Pile on the body cream or lotion

This is one of the most important steps in  a daily skincare routine, but it is often overlooked or missed out completely. The skin can look dry and dull without the use of a daily body moisturiser.  So, pile on the moisturiser every morning and evening to feed your skin, it will look super nourished and hydrated and give your body and all-round skin glow.

Now your body is gleaming and ready to hint the beach – summer loving you’ll never look so good.
